life is beautiful and new

It's December! Christmas is coming! Yay, holidays! Or not so yay, because before that I have to do one more essay and three exams (one of which I have only about an hour to do because the other one begins then...), and on Christmas vacation I need to study for another exam which is at the end of January but there's no way I'll be able to pass it if I leave all the reading next year... But I hope I will be able to do everything, that I won't run out of time and that I won't have to retake any of the exams. One of them is pronunciation (eek! I'm still struggling with some sounds), other one is German (the one I have to do in a hurry) and the last one of them is psychology (cognitive and neuropsychology... do I have to?), and the one in January is about the history of the English speaking world. Interesting, I suppose, but the books are boring... Or at least the other one. Maybe. I haven't read more than a page or so from it. :D And I haven't even touched the psychology book yet, hurray!

Also, as I stated earlier, I finished and won Nanowrimo! How awesome is that? I still haven't quite grasped it yet and it feels weird not having to worry about the word counts and writing anymore. According to my writing program I got exactly 50k words but nanowrimo.org claims that I have 50,105 words or something like that (can't bother to check it right now). I don't know what they are counting differently... But what matters the most is that I did it! Yay! And um... Not sure if I was supposed to say something else about it; can't remember anymore. :D So it probably wasn't anything important. 

My apartment's bathroom renovation got finished around the middle of November (right when Maata Näkyvissä festival was! I'll try and do a blog post about it as well) and when mum & dad came to visit me we changed the decoration of the whole apartment a little so I've got lots of reasons to update you about it! ;) Btw, I just realized that within the photos I uploaded here I don't have any good picture of my new carpet (some of the photos were taken ~2 weeks ago when I didn't have the rug yet) but perhaps no one will die because they can't see it here. You can always come to visit me in order to see it if you care so much about it. :D

New curtains! I love Vallila. <3 My snowball lights are a bit... pathetic, being so small. :D I don't even know if they are visible to the front yard. Also, got some new pillows and stuff, yay. (They're so soft <3)

New pictures on the walls as well. I'm not 100% happy with how they are placed atm but I'm too lazy to try and move them to make it look better. I'm still missing a wall clock, by the way. 

Christmas lights! That are... purple. But who cares! You can see the corner of my new rug, by the way. It's a bit slippery but I love it. <3 Another thing I love is my 2014 Vicoria Francés calendar. <3 (Which is currently on top of the stool.) I got a card deck illustrated by her as well. <3 

And the new bathroom, yay! A bit more modern. I wish there was a cabinet behind the mirror, though. 

Main point in this picture is the toilet seat. Not that it is anything special. :D I just felt like I had to showcase it anyway.

Welcome to my apartment!

Yesterday I finally got most of the stuff that was left. It took almost the whole day to build the furniture from Ikea.. Okay, not quite; we also did some shopping and a bit of cleaning. And ate at Rosso. (<3) Anywayyy, here's what you'll see when you first step in:

 As you can see, the theme is red. ;) It's still a bit messy in here, as I emptied smaller things from boxes today and there's no place really to hide the boxes.. But whatever. And I finally have a bigger mirror! Next to the mirror is the bathroom:

You might be able to see a little crack on the wall, or rather two loose tiles (on the upper photo). Because of that the bathroom will be renovated sometime in October/November. Welp, at least I'll get a brand new bathroom. :P

Sorry, only in English this time. Gotta make some fooooooddd although I'm not really sure how. :D But yeahh, this place is finally looking more home-like, it's cosier and I can start inviting people here! And when I have time (if I ever have) I can play some video games. <3
